Meet the Reverend John Elliott Lein

Our priest is Reverend John Elliott Lein (affectionately known as Father John). Officially, he began his ministry at Christ Episcopal Church in Eastport, Maine, on July 1st, 2023. Since his arrival, he has brought deep warmth, creativity, and energy to our parish. Consequently, our entire community has felt blessed by his dedicated leadership.
A Life Rooted in Washington County
Currently, Father John and his family live on a historic 1860 homestead in nearby Marion Township. As passionate animal lovers, they share their home with two cats and a beagle pup named Bede. Additionally, they tend to 18 chickens, with goats and pigs joining the farm soon!
Family is absolutely central to Father John’s life. His wife, Miriam, serves the local community through her vital work in the health office at the Pleasant Point reservation. Together, they are raising four wonderful children. Their children range from a university student at WVU to a student in the local Washington County elementary school system.
