Our Leadership

We are searching for a new rector!

After serving us faithfully since June 2014, the Reverend Lynn Rutledge retired on October 31, 2022. A joint Discrenment Committee with members from both Christ Church, Eastport and St. Aidan’s, Machias was commissioned in 2022.

This faithful Discernment Committe has completed a ministry profile and is now accepting applications!

The two churches decided that jointly seeking a new Rector that would serve both parishes is in keeping with the needs, size and mission of our churches. Our congregations are both very small and as such have become a family sharing a rector and religious services, and who have also built a strong bond that was enhanced during the COVID lockdown. Both vestries felt that having the ability to offer the next Rector the possibility of developing this part time position into a more full-time position over the next few years will maximize the chances of finding the perfect candidate to serve both our communities into the future.

Applicants are now encouraged to apply. Please be in touch with the Diocese of Maine’s Acting Transition Ministry & Deployment Officer, The Rev. Suzanne Roberts.
