Dick is the incumbent Treasurer and has served the diocese in the position since 2011. In this capacity, he works on financial matters concerning the diocese with the Bishop; the Canon for Finance and Stewardship; the chair of the Diocesan Finance Committee; aided congregations; and the Diocesan Council. He believes the diocese must continue to practice good stewardship in the management of its finances as it implements the Seven Criteria for Mission. During the past year, Dick has worked closely with the Diocesan Finance Committee and Diocesan Council as they propose a new approach to budgeting in the diocese.
Previous diocesan experience includes member of the Mission Strategy Group(2010-11), two terms on Diocesan Council, chair of the Commission on Missions under Bishop Wolf, and as a member of an episcopate discernment committee. In these capacities he has visited numerous congregations throughout Maine.
At the parish level, Dick recently completed a three year term as Senior Warden at St. Ann’s Windham. He has also served on the vestry, long range planning committees, and was a member of a discernment committee at St Ann’s. Since moving back to Maine in 1971, Dick as also served as Sr/Jr warden; vestry/bishop’s committee member; and licensed layreader and chalice bearer at other churches. He currently also serves as a member of St. Ann’s Stewardship Committee.
